In 2008, I completed a BA in photography at the University of the Arts (LCF). Since then, I have been working freelance as photography artist and picture editor; publishing and selling my work worldwide.
I have been living in Berlin, Germany since 2011.
Culture, social attitudes, diversity, individuality, and gender fluidity play a big role in my art. At different points of my life, I have seen first hand what it is like to live on many levels of the social spectrum. These experiences have greatly influenced my work. I like to concentrate on the individual in society. It is important to me that the subject has a voice within my art, in the form of expression, personal items, or personally chosen location. I stage this with flash, different colour gels and specially chosen backdrops, which I sometimes hand paint. I often manipulate the colours or saturation in postproduction. Through this process I create a photographic collage of the person. Where the subject is as important as my view of them. Although most of my work is bold in colour, the compositions are often inspired by traditional portrait paintings.
